With the Dimlux Xplore Add-ons (2×25 W), you can specifically extend your LED lighting with UV-A and/or Far-Red (NIR). This allows you to optimize the plant spectrum for every phase, improve color and aroma development, support strong photomorphogenesis, and get the most out of professional indoor setups – from grow tents to benches.

Why UV-A & Far-Red?

  • UV-A Add-on: Promotes the formation of valuable secondary metabolites (e.g., terpenes/flavonoids), strengthens the surface structure, and can reduce pest pressure.
  • Far-Red (NIR) Add-on: Supports phytochrome balance, improves light penetration into the canopy, and can provide beneficial accents during flowering/ripening phases (keyword "end-of-day" impulses).
  • Combi UV-A+NIR: One bar, two spectra – ideal if you want it compact and uncomplicated.
  • Separate Timers: UV-A and NIR can be switched independently to finely tune run times and dosing.

  • Distance & Homogeneity: 50–75 cm mounting height is a good starting point. Ensure even distribution over the canopy.
  • Observe protection: Wear UV protective glasses; never look directly into active UV sources.
  • Use measured values: With PAR/ePAR measurement (PPFD map), you can quickly find the right run times for your setup.

FAQ

Does the add-on fit my existing LED system?

The light bars are designed as additional spectrum modules. Thanks to brackets, they can be attached to common LED frames and crossbars. Check the dimensions (1120 × 26 × 35 mm) and cable routing in your setup beforehand.

How do I control UV-A and NIR independently?

The easiest way is via separate timers/sockets. This allows you to set run times and times of day for UV-A and NIR individually.

How many add-ons can I connect in series?

Depending on the circuit and wiring, up to 40 add-ons can be cascaded. Pay attention to the total load of your circuit.

What distance to the plant makes sense?

50–75 cm has proven to be a good guideline. Adjust the distance according to plant height and reaction.

Does UV-A automatically improve yield?

UV-A primarily serves for quality control (aroma, color, structure). Use it as a targeted tool and combine it with stable environmental parameters (air, climate, nutrient solution).

Is the add-on dimmable?

You control the intensity practically via run time (timer) and distance. Separate dimming is not provided depending on the setup.

Can I use the bars in a humid environment?

Yes, the IP66 protection class allows use in humid rooms. However, avoid direct water spray and observe the safety instructions.
