Dimlux Xtreme Series 550W MKII + NIR – High-End LED Grow Light with 3.40 µmol/J & PhytoVegSpec®
You don't just want "somehow bright" in your grow tent or grow room, but measurably more output per watt? Then the Dimlux Xtreme Series 550W MKII + NIR is exactly the type of LED you buy when you're serious: high efficiency (3.40 µmol/J), strong light output (PPF 350–800 nm: 1850 µmol/s), and an adjustable PhytoVegSpec® spectrum that you can adapt to the respective phase – from compact vegetative growth to intense flowering.
What's special about the MKII + NIR: In addition to full spectrum, Near Infrared (NIR) is included. In practice, this can influence the plant's light perception and improve the "depth" of the effect – especially in denser stands. All this is combined with typical Dimlux features such as a patented Deep Penetration lens and the integrated negative ionizer + cold plasma, which additionally "purifies" the air in the room.
Why this LED often ends up in professional setups
3.40 µmol/J total photon efficacy (very efficient in the 550W class)
1850 µmol/s (PPF 350–800 nm) – powerful photon pressure for indoor areas
Patented transmission lens for deep light penetration (Deep Penetration)
Negative ions & cold plasma – can improve air quality, ozone not detectable (< 0.05 ppm) according to data sheet
IP65 (robust construction for demanding environments)
Controllable via Smart Remote, Maxi Controller or internal controller
5 years warranty (manufacturer's specification)
NIR + PhytoVegSpec®: What does this mean for you in practice?
With many LED grow lights, you get a fixed spectrum – it works, but you have to "adjust" the rest via distance/power. The Xtreme MKII relies on PhytoVegSpec®: an adjustable spectrum that you can precisely fine-tune depending on your goal (compact growth, generative phase, finish). With NIR, an additional range is added, which is particularly interesting in many setups in the late phase – especially if you are aiming for more uniform development in the canopy.

Tips & Tricks (to unleash the Xtreme MKII's potential)
Take distance seriously: Dimlux specifies a minimum mounting height of 60 cm. Especially at the beginning, start with more distance and gradually approach your target PPFD.
Do not adjust spectrum "by feel": Make changes to the PhytoVegSpec® in small steps and observe for 2–3 days (leaf position, internodes, transpiration).
Climate = yield: A lot of light only helps if temperature, humidity and air movement are right. Strong photon pressure without a clean climate often leads to stress signals.
Utilize air quality: The integrated negative ionizer + cold plasma is not a substitute for hygiene, but it can be an additional component – especially in densely planted indoor rooms.
Properly integrate controller: If you work with Dimlux controllers or external controllers: fix wiring properly, use strain relief, and run control lines separately from power cables.
Cleaning: IP65 helps – nevertheless: clean only dry/slightly damp, no aggressive cleaners on optics or housing.
FAQ – frequently asked questions about the Dimlux Xtreme Series 550W MKII + NIR
What does 3.40 µmol/J mean for an LED grow light?
This is the efficiency: how many plant photons are generated per joule used. Higher generally means more usable light per electricity cost.
What does NIR (Near Infrared) do in indoor growing?
NIR complements the spectrum and, depending on the setup, can influence the plant's reaction – many use it to support canopy development in the late phase.
Is this a full spectrum LED plant light?
Yes – plus NIR. The spectrum is adjustable (PhytoVegSpec® Indoor + NIR) so you can adapt it to vegetative growth/flowering.
Can I control the light?
According to the data sheet, the Xtreme MKII can be controlled via Smart Remote, Maxi Controller or internal controller.
How high should I hang the light?
Dimlux states a minimum of 60 cm above the plant canopy. Depending on the plant/phase/area, more distance may be appropriate until the setup is stable.
Is the light suitable for humid environments?
The protection class is specified as IP65. Nevertheless, always install electrical components correctly and avoid water directly on plugs/connections.
How long does the Dimlux Xtreme MKII last?
The lifespan is specified as L90 > 50,000 hours (manufacturer data).

Positiv:
- recht hoher Preis
--- Li-Akku nicht selbst ersetzbar(?)
--- Kein Dampfen mit Netzteil / gleichzeitiger Ladung möglich!
Das ist im Gebrauch der Hauptnachteil! Ständig ist das Ding leer.
