DryFerm FermBag 3× (30×50 cm) – Controlled drying, preserved aroma

Do you want to dry your harvest evenly, without it getting "crispy" on the outside while still damp on the inside? The DryFerm FermBag is designed for this: It releases moisture in a controlled manner, protects delicate aromatic compounds, and makes the drying process significantly more reproducible – especially for small to medium quantities.

This set contains 3 drying bags (30×50 cm). Each bag can hold 100–250 g of fresh plant material (manufacturer's approval). Ideal if you don't want to operate a large drying box, but prefer to work cleanly, space-efficiently, and with less odor.

At a glance

  • Set: 3× FermBag (30×50 cm)
  • Capacity: approx. 100–250 g fresh material per bag (do not overfill)
  • Application: Drying bag / Dry Bag / Curing preparation
  • Goal: even residual moisture, less risk of mold & quality loss*
  • Suitable for: Homegrow, discreet processing, small to medium batches

*As with any drying process: Temperature, room humidity, fill quantity, and initial moisture are decisive factors. The bag reduces risks but does not replace clean processing.

Which size suits your harvest?

If you regularly dry different quantities, having the right bag size pays off – this ensures more even drying and helps you avoid "hotspots" due to overfilling.

Variant Typical quantity / bag Link
FermBag / FernBag small approx. 50–150 g DryFerm FernBag 50–150 g (3-piece set)
This set (30×50 cm) approx. 100–250 g All DryFerm products
FermBag large approx. 250–450 g DryFerm FermBag 250–450 g (3-piece set)

How to use the DryFerm FermBag correctly (practical workflow)

  1. Prepare harvest: Remove coarse leaves, take out thick stems. Goal: material as uniform as possible.
  2. Fill loosely: For each bag, place 100–250 g loosely. Do not pack tightly – air gaps help with even moisture release.
  3. Remove excess air & seal tightly: Smooth out the bag, press out air, and seal airtight (e.g., clip/clamp/heat seal – depending on your setup).
  4. Store correctly: Cool, dark, clean. Proven ideal: 18–21 °C at max. 65% RH. Avoid direct heat sources.
  5. Check weight: Weigh the bag regularly and note the progression. When the weight remains stable (often after approx. 7–12 days), drying is generally complete.
  6. Post-curing / Storage: Afterwards, depending on your goal, you can move to post-curing or package it appropriately.

Tips & tricks for better results (that really help in practice)

  • Overfilling is the main mistake: If you have very dense tops, it's better to divide them into two bags.
  • Separate batches: Dry different sized buds separately (same pace = better uniformity).
  • Log instead of gut feeling: A simple weight diary will save you more trouble than "it feels dry enough".
  • Cleanliness pays off: Work surface, gloves, clean scissors – less risk of unwanted microflora.
  • If it was very wet: Pay particular attention to the fill quantity in the first 24–48 hours. When in doubt: open the bag, redistribute, seal tightly again.
  • Tools that really make sense: A good scale will save you the most hassle in the end.

FAQ – frequently asked questions about the FermBag (short & honest)

Do I need to open ("burp") the bag in between?

Usually not. However, if you notice that the material remains very unevenly moist (typical with overfilling), "redistributing" is sensible: briefly open, divide, seal airtight again.

How do I know when drying is complete?

Most reliably by weight: If the weight does not change over 24–48 hours, that's a very good indicator. Additionally: the material feels dry on the outside without being "mushy" on the inside.

Does the FermBag replace a complete drying tent?

For many homegrowers, yes – especially for smaller to medium quantities. However, you still need a suitable storage location (cool, dark, no high room humidity).

Can I start curing directly afterwards?

Many use a post-drying phase. Whether you cure in the bag or in a container depends on your setup. If you want to work systematically: check out curing accessories.

What's better: 100 g or 250 g per bag?

For the most "relaxed" drying: start rather in the lower to middle range. 250 g works if the material is uniform and you fill it genuinely loosely.

What is the 30×50 cm bag particularly suitable for?

For batches that are larger than classic 50–150 g bags, but not yet in the "large bag" category. Also practical if you want to dry several small plants/phenos separately.
