Tips & Tricks from Practice

  • Proper Sensor Placement: Mount the RH/T sensor at leaf height in the air circulation current, but not directly in front of intake/exhaust or lights. This ensures representative measurements and avoids hot spots.
  • Setting Negative Pressure Accurately: Start with slight negative pressure and gradually increase until no odors escape. With the PresSense, you can precisely regulate the intake air to the target value.
  • Using 0–10V Dimming: Use sunrise/sunset to reduce light stress – especially with powerful LED systems.
  • Day/Night Profiles: Set lower temperature/humidity setpoints at night. This reduces mold risks and saves energy.
  • CO₂ Operation: Ensure good air circulation and a sealed environment. Only use CO₂ effectively with sufficient light intensity.
  • Safely Switching External Loads: For inductive high loads (e.g., solenoid valves), control via the DC output with a relay/contactor is recommended.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Can GrowBase Lite control EC and AC fans?

Yes. EC fans are connected directly via RJ45, AC fans via the Schuko outputs. This gives you maximum flexibility when upgrading existing setups.

How many sockets does the device have and how much power can I connect?

There are two Schuko sockets (Multifunctional Out 1–2), each up to 600W @ 230V, total load 1200W. Additionally, a 0–10V output and a 12–24V DC output (1A) are available.

Does 0–10V dimming work with my LED drivers?

Yes, with all lights/LED drivers that have a 0–10V/1–10V input (check manufacturer specifications). The sunrise/sunset function is integrated.

Do I absolutely need the PresSense sensor for negative pressure control?

For precise and constant negative pressure values, PresSense is the ideal addition. Alternatively, you can run a fixed differential between intake and exhaust – however, with the sensor, it regulates based on measured values.

What is the difference to FanBase EC+?

FanBase EC+ specializes in EC fan control (temperature/humidity/negative pressure). GrowBase Lite goes further: additionally 0–10V light dimming, Schuko outputs for AC loads, and CO₂/timer functions – perfect if you want to control climate and light centrally.

Can I regulate CO₂ – what do I need?

Yes. You need a compatible CO₂ sensor and a CO₂ valve or a CO₂ generator. Control is done directly via the controller's outputs.

Are there firmware updates?

Yes, updates are conveniently installed via the USB interface.
